A New Chapter in Care: Redeemer's Health Village Performs Its First Robotic-Assisted Surgery

This week, at Redeemer’s Health Village in Ogun State, RCCG marked a quiet but significant milestone in our commitment to healthcare across Africa: the facility’s first robotic-assisted surgery, performed on a middle-aged man facing prostate cancer.

It was a procedure built on precision rather than force. Smaller incisions. A magnified view no human eye alone could match. Movement steadier than any hand. Working alongside the hospital’s in-house medical team, urology experts and robotic surgeons from RoboMed Global Inc. carried out the operation with a single aim: less trauma for the patient, and a faster path back to ordinary life. By the next morning, he was home.

For RCCG, this is about more than technology. It is about what technology in service of compassion can make possible. The Chief Executive Officer of Redeemer’s Health Village, Adedamola Dada, has long held that the facility should be a destination for the very best care this country and this continent can offer, available “regardless of where you live, regardless of your social status. ” Robotic surgery, once the province of a privileged few, is a step toward that promise. It is precise enough to change outcomes, and something RCCG is working to make affordable enough to matter to everyone who needs it. The work does not stop at prostate cancer. In the coming weeks, the team at Redeemer’s Health Village will extend this capability to cervical, uterine, and colonic conditions, and to more personal stories still. Among the cases ahead is a 28-year-old doctor, born with a congenital kidney deformity that has quietly caused damage since birth. Because the kidney is not yet fully compromised, this surgery offers something rare: the chance to reverse the damage before it becomes permanent, and to return a life to its intended course.

As one of the hospital’s robotic surgeons put it, the machine does not operate on its own. It extends what a steady, skilled hand can do, without the tremor every human hand carries. The surgeon remains the one who understands, who decides, who is responsible. What the technology offers is simply a better instrument for compassion already at work.

This is what Redeemer’s Health Village, under RCCG, continues to build toward: notnovelty for its own sake, but care precise enough, and accessible enough, to reach every person who needs it, across Nigeria and across Africa.

RE: MISREPRESENTATION OF COMMENTS MADE BY Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye https://www.rccgo.org/re-misrepresentation-of-comments-made-by-pastor-enoch-adejare-adeboye/ Wed, 01 Jul 2026 07:28:00 +0000 https://www.rccgo.org/?p=15337 Our attention has been drawn to a viral video currently circulating across various social media platforms and blogs, purporting to present comments made by the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, concerning the issue of insecurity in Nigeria and the efforts of the President.

We wish to state unequivocally that the clip being circulated is a short excerpt taken from a much longer message of approximately thirty minutes. Unfortunately, the selective editing and deliberate isolation of a few seconds from the complete message have distorted the intended meaning and created an entirely misleading narrative.

This growing trend of taking statements out of context to generate controversy, drive online engagement, and attract traffic is both unethical and irresponsible. Journalism and media practice demand fairness, accuracy, and context. Removing the surrounding explanations and presenting isolated remarks as complete positions is a disservice to the public and undermines the integrity of responsible communication.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye’s message, when viewed in its entirety, presents a balanced, thoughtful, and spiritually grounded perspective. Any interpretation based solely on the circulating clip does not accurately represent the substance or intent of his remarks.

We therefore call on bloggers, content creators, media platforms, and all individuals engaged in information dissemination to exercise greater responsibility in the discharge of this important duty. Sensational headlines and deliberately edited clips may generate temporary attention, but they erode public trust, fuel unnecessary division, and misinform audiences.

We also encourage members of the public to seek the complete message before forming opinions or sharing conclusions. In an age where misinformation spreads rapidly, every stakeholder has a responsibility to promote truth, fairness, and accuracy.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God remains committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, promoting peace, praying for those in authority, and contributing positively to national development through biblical truth and responsible public engagement.

We respectfully urge all media practitioners and digital publishers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism by presenting news and public statements in their proper context, rather than sacrificing truth on the altar of sensationalism.
